On October 15 Colonel Vaghinak Sargsyan, the Commander of the Border Guard Troops of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, received Carel Hofstra, Team Leader at International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) in Armenia.
During the meeting they discussed the work done by the Representatives of ICMPD in 2018 in detail and the upcoming joint plans for 2019 to increase the capabilities of the Border Guard Troops and to equip checkpoints with modern technical means. The issues of training of the Border Guard Troops in the Training Center were also discussed.
The Commander of the Border Guard Troops noted the importance of cooperation within the EU, thanked for their assistance in the modernization of checkpoints and expressed hope for the further development of cooperation.
